Beaches of the Costa Dorada
The Costa Daurada, in Tarragona, borders the Costa del Garraf to the north and the Costa del Azahar to the south. It has 81 kilometers of coastline spread over more than sixty beaches and coves, most of which have fine golden sand and shallow access into the interior of the sea.
Most of the municipalities of the Costa Dorada have the blue flag, an eco-label that guarantees water quality standards, sand cleanliness, accessibility and services. Some destinations also have ISO 14001: 2004 certification, which guarantees environmental management on the beaches.
Cala Crancs, in Salou
Cala Crancs is located in Cap de Salou, about 6 kilometers from the city of Salou and relatively close to La Pineda, where Hotel Palas Pineda is located. It is a small and hidden cove with crystal clear waters, with a semi-circular shape, somewhat coarser sand and surrounded by leafy pine forests. It is a very quiet beach, perfect for relaxing during the summer holidays.
Tamarit Beach, in Tamarit
Tamarit Beach, in the Tarragona town of Tamarit, is a beach of fine sand 1.7 kilometers long and 45 meters wide. It has beautiful views of the Tamarit castle and is located next to the Gaià Delta River Nature Reserve, surrounded by poplars, willows and reeds in whose shade you can stop to rest. A perfect beach to visit with the family!
